As someone who hates the cold, I love to see the sight of Cherry Blossoms on a winter day because it means that Spring is just around the corner and I’m so please to say I saw my first blooms of Cherry Blossoms over the weekend. YAY!

With the buds of new blossoms also comes that clearing away of the winter fog (in our minds) and hopefully the inspiration to start to think of how we can blossom ourselves!

This month I wanted to talk to you about ways to share ideas and work together to develop new concepts, ways of working and/or ideas to brighten up your organisations, your halls and your listing this spring.

Just like you, I work with committees and often don’t have much face-to-face time with the people I need to speak to, to make decisions. This is why it is so important that I have an easy way to share information with everyone and keep them up-to-date with what is going on and often, what they have to do.

One of my favourite ways to work together is Google Sheets – do you already use Google Docs? Have you tried Google Sheets? If you already have a google account (a gmail account) then you can simply go to your other google apps (on the top right hand side of your account the icon that looks like the number 9 on a dice) and select Drive. If you don’t know at all what I am talking about, try this link:

Google Sheets and Google Docs are free to use and anyone with a Google account can access this information if you choose to share it with them.

Another new platform which has just opened up to help organisations such as ours to share information and ideas is Workplace by Facebook.

If you already use Facebook and find this platform easy to understand, then you are going to love Facebook Workplace as a place to share ideas and talk about what is next for your organisation. Best of all, Facebook Workplace is free for all not-for-profit organisations!

How do you share information throughout your organisation and committees? Would one of these platforms help you?

If you have systems that work for you, which you would like to share with other members please drop me an email to and as always, if you have a subject you would like me to cover in my next newsletter, please let me know!
